My Nono

My Nono is leaving tomorrow. That makes me sad. He's been here for a while. But it has been nice for him to be here. Yesterday, he had to pick me up from school. Because my Dad got stuck in traffic. We went for ice cream after school. And he went with me to my dance practice. I think he had a good time.

Tonight we had a going away dinner for him. I'm going to miss him. I think my Nana is going to miss him too. My Nono was getting used to going to visit her at work. I know it made her feel better. Because she has been sad for a while. I wish my Nono still lived here. He lived with us for a little while. I miss him a lot!

I'm glad that my Nono came for a long visit. I'm glad that Steve gave him the time off. And that he got to come and play in the group with my tios. My Nono told me not to be sad. We're going to see each other soon. Because my Dad always takes me to Disney World for Spring break. Our Spring break starts on March 22nd. I can't wait to go visit my Nono! :) C

Cold

It's been really cold here lately. The wind has been strong too. We've had snow. My Dad said that he's glad he doesn't have to go to work today. Because it's really ugly outside. We're not used to having winter weather here. It usually doesn't snow. And it never gets this cold.

Every night, my Dad has built a fire in our fireplace. Today my abuelitas didn't go to mass with us. Because the weather was too bad. It's better that they stay at home. I wouldn't want them to get hurt. And right after church, my Dad and I came home.

He made us breakfast. And after we ate, we all put our pjs on. We've been under the blankets since. It's that cold! But I'm glad that we get to have hot chocolate. And my Dad's homemade soup. :) C

Sarita is Happy

My Tio Juan and my Tia Christina came home today. Sarita is very excited to see them. I think they had a good trip. Because they can't stop smiling! They brought us all back something too. I got a pretty pearl necklace.

All my tios sent them to Hawaii. I think they were gone for a month. My Nono said that they needed some time away. Because they've been taking care of Sarita since she was a baby. They spend most of their time at the hospital. My Nana, Nono, and Dad took turns watching Sarita. I know she had a good time!

It snowed here on Tuesday. We live in the desert. But this year, we have had a lot of snow. It's been fun to play in! But my Tio Juan said it was a big change for him! I think they just got used to being on the beach. :)

I'm glad they're back. We all missed them! My Nana, Nono, and I have been praying for a baby too! We're not supposed to say anything. But My Tio and Tia are trying to have another baby. It could help Sarita. I hope God sends them another angel. :) C

Little Women

My Dad and I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday. I've been wanting a new book. It's been really cold around here. I like to read when it gets cold like this.

I looked and looked through all the books. My Dad was having coffee and a cookie. I picked the book Little Women. My Nana and I had been talking about it. She likes to read a lot like me. I stayed up late last night reading. I got up early today to read too! I'm already halfway through my new book. But it's a really good book. :) C

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! I'm so excited! I like Valentine's Day a lot. Because it's all about LOVE! My Dad gave me a heart necklace. And some cupcakes. Tonight, we're having a special dinner. My Dad had the weekend off. He's been cooking us lots of yummy things!

In the mail, I got a box of candy and a teddy bear from my friend Joe. My Nono gave me some roses. And chocolate strawberries. :) But more than the presents, I just like a day to tell everyone how much you love them! Happy Valentine's Day! :) C

Sarita Wants One

Last Wednesday, Sarita's parents went on a vacation. So she's staying here with us. So is our Nono. He came back with my Dad, my abuelitas, and me after New Years.

This afternoon Sarita and I were looking at Ruby's blog. Our Nono was making dinner. And we found this.



This is the front of the pillow. It's like a Dollhouse. Sarita really wants one.



This is the back. It has little rooms. She really liked that!



You can even climb inside it. And take a nap. Sarita would fit inside too! She's tiny. The doctors said that she's not growing because of her sickness. But when she starts her recovery, she'll catch up.

But she really likes this pillow! And our Nono searched for one to buy for her. But he couldn't find one. :( I wonder if we should write to Mrs. Ruby. Do you think she would make one if our Nono would pay her for it? :) C

Sarita

We're all very lucky. We have our health. But my friend Sarita, she's been sick since she was a baby. Sarita is like my little sister. She is 4 years old and has leukemia. Her mom and dad are my tio and tia. And they've been here with us. It's been really nice to have them here.

Sarita has to be in Tennessee to have her treatments. But when she isn't having her treatments, they like to come and visit. And my Dad always makes sure that they stay with us! Sarita's Nana and Nono are the same as mine. :)

I feel bad when I see her sick. But I know that she is getting better. The doctors are working hard to make her better. And we are all praying a lot to make her better. I'm not sure why God makes some of us sick and some of us healthy. But I'm glad that he is helping Sarita. :) C

Back to School

Tomorrow I go back to school. I'm really excited! I've missed my friends. We haven't seen each other at all during our break. But I've also had a lot of fun on winter break.

I did read my book over break though. I'm happy. It will make this week a lot easier for me. Because I also start my dance classes again tomorrow. They've been on break too! I have both my backpack and my dance bag packed. I'm ready for tomorrow.

Dad has to go back to work too. But he will still take me to school tomorrow. My Nono is going to be picking me up. He is very cool. I want him to go with me to my dance class. Maybe he will. I hope so!

That's it for tonight. Dad is making us all some popcorn. And we're watching some TV. In a little while, I have to go to sleep. I hope I can sleep! :) C

Being Lazy

We're being really lazy around here. But we need to pack our bags. Because we're going to go visit my Nono in Florida. We leave tomorrow. My abuelitas are really excited too!

My Nono already has our entire trip planned. And we get to spend New Year's Eve at Disney World. We're going for more than 1 day. But we get to spend that day there! It's going to be a lot of fun!

Now I just need to talk my Dad into packing his bags. We've been watching movies all day. And eating lots of yummy cookies! But we've got some work to do. Because we have to be at the airport tomorrow at 4 in the morning! :) C

Yummy Comida!

Dad made some yummy green chili stew and tortillas tonight for dinner. It was so good. And it warmed us all up. It's so cold outside! I ate 2 bowls of stew and 3 tortillas. 1 of them with butter. Fresh off the placa. It was the best one!

I also made a chocolate cake. Mi abuelita helped me with the frosting. We make our own. It is so yummy! I baked 2 cakes and we stacked them. Mi abuelita make some chocolate and raspberry filling to put between them. And then we frosted the cake with chocolate icing. After dinner, we each had a big piece with a glass of milk. My belly is all full now!

Tonight, I need to work on dad's Christmas present. I only have a few days left to finish it! But it's almost done. I'm not too worried about it yet. I think I can finish it tonight. Maybe in the morning. I'm not sure. But that is what I'm working on tonight. :) C

Christmas Party

Today was our last day of school until January. We had a Christmas party. It was lots of fun! Our teacher, Sister Maria brought us special gifts. She made us reflection books and rosaries. I don't know how to post pictures yet. I want to show you my gifts. But I don't know how to post a picture yet.

I made Sister Maria a tote bag for her books. She likes to read. I always see her at the library. I thought she would like a tote bag. :) That way she could carry her books. She decided to wait to open her presents until Christmas. I made my friends stockings. In their favorite colors. Then my Dad and I went shopping. I got lots of fun stuff to put inside. Candy too!

We ate lots of good food. My Dad made us some green chili chicken enchiladas. Empanaditas too! There were lots of good things to eat. I got to bring a plate of desserts home too! I'm going to miss everybody from school. I don't live near anyone I go to school with. My friends are going to try and meet once during our school break. :) C

Time with Dad

Tonight I get to go see my dad at work. I like to go to his concerts. I have lots of fun listening to the music. It is so magical. This morning before dad left, he brought me a new dress. I got it because it is our "Special" night out. My dad takes me to fun days 2 times a month.

Tonight we are going to go have dinner. Then go to my dad's concert. :) My dad let's me pick where we are going to go eat. I think I will pick a Mexican restaurant. It's my dad and I's favorite kind of food. :)

I'm just excited to get to spend time with my dad. I want to wear my new dress too. I think it will be lots of fun. I like to watch my dad play. Spending time with him is the best! C

Welcome

My Nana helped me to make a blog today. I like to read her's all the time! I wanted to be able to write posts about my crafts. Because I like to craft a lot. :) My Nana helps me with my projects. And sometimes mi abuelitas help me too!

I just started middle school this year. And I play the violin and sing. I also do Baile Folklorico. It's a lot of fun! My dad is really fun too! He helps me with all of these things. And teaches me about our culture.

That's just a little bit of stuff about me. I hope you come back to see what I'm making. I might also write posts about what I'm doing. I don't know yet. I guess I will just have to wait to see. C
