Petal Earrings

I was a little bored this morning. My Abuelita and I decided to look at some blogs. I'm teaching her about the computer. And my Dad had the day off. He was making us breakfast. When my Abuelita and I were looking at Ruffles and Stuff, we saw these earrings.

Disney is so talented! I like everything that she makes. But I really want to try these earrings. They're so elegant. I asked my Dad if I can make them. He told me yes! We're going to Hobby Lobby later to buy the supplies. I think my Abuelita and I can figure them out with Disney's tutorial.

I really want to make some for Easter. I think they would be nice to wear to church. I hope I can get them done on time. :) C

Birthday Party

Yesterday we had a big birthday party at our house. It was for Maribel, Lauren, my Nana, and me. All of our birthdays are close together. And Lauren and Maribel's moms just had babies. Their birthday parties were supposed to be last weekend. But my Nana and my Tio Berto asked us if we could make them all at the same time. Since that is when the babies started to come. I was really excited! And my Dad said it was OK to have all the parties together.

Maribel and Lauren turned 3. I turned 12. I'm not sure how old my Nana is. But she is 20 something. Tio Berto asked me to keep the secret. We surprised my Nana. She thought the party was just for us 3 girls. But Tio Berto bought my Nana a big birthday cake, her own pinata, and lots of presents. :)

Our birthday parties are always Matanzas too. That's when you kill a pig and cook it. Early yesterday morning, all my tios and my Dad killed 3 pigs. And then they started to cook. They're really good at it. 2 of the pigs had been at my Tio Berto's house. And 1 had been here. We fatten them up until the day they kill them. My favorite part, are the chicharrones. It's pretty much fried pork fat. But it tastes good in fresh tortillas. :)

Everyone had a lot of fun! My tios played too! They're mariachis. And my Nana sang with them. They even got Maribel to sing a song. She's getting really good! There was a lot of dancing and eating. And we got to see both sets of twins. They came for a little while on their way home.

This was my best birthday ever! I got to spend it with a lot of people I love. And I got to share my birthday party with my 2 friends and my Nana! :) C

Spring Break

My Dad and I came to visit my Nono Sunday night. My Dad had a concert. But right after, we went to the airport. My abuelitas were excited to come too! They like to go shopping at Downtown Disney. :) Today my Nono and me are going to go to MGM Studios together. He's got a special day planned for us! I'm so excited!

We have 2 weeks off of school. But we're going back home on Friday morning. Because this weekend is my birthday party! It's going to be a lot of fun. My Nono and I are going to have a good day today too! :) C

IHOP and the Symphony

I went with my Dad to work tonight. He plays in the symphony. It was a beautiful concert. I'm super glad that my Dad let me go with him. After the concert we stopped at IHOP. We shared crepes and pancakes. I had strawberry crepes. They're my favorite. And my Dad had pancakes. They were good too! It's late right now. But we're on our way home. My Dad and I had such a fun time tonight! :) C

Cold

It's been really cold here lately. The wind has been strong too. We've had snow. My Dad said that he's glad he doesn't have to go to work today. Because it's really ugly outside. We're not used to having winter weather here. It usually doesn't snow. And it never gets this cold.

Every night, my Dad has built a fire in our fireplace. Today my abuelitas didn't go to mass with us. Because the weather was too bad. It's better that they stay at home. I wouldn't want them to get hurt. And right after church, my Dad and I came home.

He made us breakfast. And after we ate, we all put our pjs on. We've been under the blankets since. It's that cold! But I'm glad that we get to have hot chocolate. And my Dad's homemade soup. :) C

Snow White

Yesterday we watched a few Disney movies. My Dad said that he had never seen Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. I'm not sure about that. But that's what he said. He liked it a lot. He told me that the next time we go to Disney World, he wants to buy something with the Dwarfs on it. I think he should get a coffee mug. :)

Sarita told him that he looked like Doc. I think he is more like Happy. My Dad didn't really know who we were talking about. He just knew who Sleepy, Doopey, and Grumpy were. Doopey reminds him of Sancho. He's pretty silly like that! And Grumpy, he knows Grumpy. Because my Nana has some pjs and a sweatshirt with Grumpy on them. My Nana says that she is like Grumpy in the morning. My Dad agrees. :) She just doesn't like the mornings. My Dad is like that. But coffee always makes him feel better. I hope we get to see Snow White again with my Nana! :) C

Ash Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday. My Dad went to church with me this morning. I go to a Catholic School. We go to mass every day before school. This morning, my Dad came too! And we got our ashes. It's the beginning of Lent. Papi Rene told use not to look at it as a sad time. Or even a time to give up stuff. But a time to do better. To do nice things for people. And make a better effort to pray and meditate every day.

I decided to practice every day for an hour. And to help my Dad and abuelitas more. I'm also going to volunteer at church. I think that would be a good deed to do.

I was happy to get my ashes today. It was weird to see so many people at church. You never see that many people there. But it was nice to see them worshipping. :) C

Super Bowl

Today we had a busy day. We went to church. My Nono took us all out for brunch. My Dad had to go to his concert. I got to go see it last night. It was really amazing! While my Dad was at the concert, my Nono put together our Super Bowl party. Lots of people came over!

By the time my Dad got home, everything was cooked and ready to go. We don't watch too many sports things. My Dad likes soccer. But we all enjoyed the game. There are still some people here. But Sarita went to bed a little while ago. I think I'm going to go to sleep too!

It was a fun weekend. We did a lot. Mostly, we ate. But it was really good! My favorite part of the weekend was making cupcakes with my Nono and Sarita. And my Dad's concert. :) C

Feliz Cumpleanos Papi!

Today is my Dad's birthday! Happy Birthday Papi! I LOVE you lots!!! And I hope you have a nice day. You're the best Dad ever! I want to give you a big hug and tell you that I love you. And I hope you like the breakfast that I'm making you. :) C

Happy New Year!

We got to go to Disney last night. We went with my Nono. It was so much fun! They had lots of beautiful fireworks. I'm so glad that we got to come. :)

This morning, my Dad and my Nono are making us breakfast. It smells really yummy! Then we're all going to Disney World today! I'm really excited. My Nono and I already have our plans for all the rides we are going to ride!

But I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! :) C

Baking Galletas

Today My Dad and I baked galletas. Cookies. :) I asked him last night. He was excited like me. Mi abuelitas helped us too! We had lots of fun! My Dad is off of work too. He doesn't have to go back until January! All week we are going to do things together.

We made biscochos and wedding cookies. Those are my favorite. My Dad wanted chocolate chip cookies too. He made some sweet bread. We have lots of good things to eat now. Mi abuelitas are excited to have some galletas with their coffee. I think they will like them.

I tried some wedding cookies. We made them small. But they are still my favorite. :) They were messy too! I was covered in powder sugar. But they are really good. My Dad couldn't find his recipes. But he remembered them. He's got a good memory. Maybe he will let me post his recipe. I just have to ask him to write it down for me. :) C

Time with Dad

Tonight I get to go see my dad at work. I like to go to his concerts. I have lots of fun listening to the music. It is so magical. This morning before dad left, he brought me a new dress. I got it because it is our "Special" night out. My dad takes me to fun days 2 times a month.

Tonight we are going to go have dinner. Then go to my dad's concert. :) My dad let's me pick where we are going to go eat. I think I will pick a Mexican restaurant. It's my dad and I's favorite kind of food. :)

I'm just excited to get to spend time with my dad. I want to wear my new dress too. I think it will be lots of fun. I like to watch my dad play. Spending time with him is the best! C
