My Nana

I wish I could buy this scarf for my Nana. She needs something like this to make her feel warm and safe again. My Nana's aunt passed away on Wednesday. She didn't get to see her. Because she had to work. I know she is feeling sad. My Dad and her sat and talked for a while.

I know that my Nana likes scarves. And she likes ruffles. If I only had a credit card. Because I have $48. I would like to give this to her. Just so she knows that I love her. And I want to give her a hug. :) C

DA GENTE QUE EU GOSTO

Eu gosto de gente que vibra, que não tem de ser empurrada, que não se tem de dizer que faça as coisas, mas que sabe o que tem que fazer e que faz. Gente que cultiva seus sonhos até que esses sonhos se apoderam de sua própria realidade.

Eu gosto de gente com capacidade para assumir as conseqüências de suas ações, de gente que arrisca o certo pelo incerto para ir atrás de um sonho, que se permite, abandona os conselhos sensatos deixando as soluções nas mãos de Deus.

Gosto de gente que é justa com sua gente e consigo mesma, da gente que agradece o novo dia, as coisas boas que existem em sua vida, que vive cada hora com bom animo dando o melhor de si, agradecido de estar vivo, de poder distribuir sorrisos, de oferecer suas mãos e ajudar generosamente sem esperar nada em troca.

Eu gosto de gente capaz de me criticar construtivamente e de frente, mas sem me lastimar ou me ferir. De gente que tem tato.
Gosto de gente que possui sentido de justiça. A estes chamo de meus amigos. Gosto de gente que sabe a importância da alegria e a pratica. De gente que por meio de piadas nos ensina a conceber a vida com humor. De gente que nunca deixa de ser animada.

Gosto de gente que nos contagia com sua energia. Gosto de gente sincera e franca, capaz de se opor com argumentos razoáveis a qualquer decisão. Gosto de gente fiel e persistente, que não descansa quando se trata de alcançar objetivos e idéias. Me encanta gente de critério, que não se envergonha em reconhecer que se equivocou ou que não sabe algo. De gente que, ao aceitar seus erros, se esforça genuinamente por não voltar a cometê-los. De gente que luta contra adversidades.

Gosto de gente que busca soluções. Gosto de gente que pensa e medita internamente. De gente que valoriza seus semelhantes, não por um estereótipo social, nem como se apresentam. De gente que não julga, nem deixa que outros julguem.

Gosta de gente que tem personalidade. Me encanta gente que é capaz de entender que o maior erro do ser humano é tentar arrancar da cabeça aquilo que não sai do coração. A sensibilidade, a coragem, a solidariedade, a bondade, o respeito, a tranqüilidade, os valores, a alegria, a humildade, a fé, a felicidade, o tato, a confiança, a esperança, o agradecimento, a sabedoria, os sonhos, o arrependimento, e o amor para com os demais e consigo próprio são coisas fundamentais para se chamar GENTE. Com gente como essa, me comprometo, para o que seja, pelo resto de minha vida... já que, por tê-los junto de mim, me dou por bem retribuído.

OBRIGADO POR SER PARTE DESSA GENTE ! Impossível ganhar sem saber perder. Impossível andar sem saber cair. Impossível acertar sem saber errar. Impossível viver sem saber reviver. A glória não consiste em não cair nunca, mas em levantar-se todas as vezes que seja necessário.

E ISSO É ALGO QUE MUITO POUCA GENTE TEM O PRIVILEGIO DE PODER EXPERIMENTAR. Bem aventurados aqueles que já conseguiram receber com a mesma naturalidade o ganhar e o perder, o acerto e o erro, o triunfo e a derrota...

My Nono

My Nono is leaving tomorrow. That makes me sad. He's been here for a while. But it has been nice for him to be here. Yesterday, he had to pick me up from school. Because my Dad got stuck in traffic. We went for ice cream after school. And he went with me to my dance practice. I think he had a good time.

Tonight we had a going away dinner for him. I'm going to miss him. I think my Nana is going to miss him too. My Nono was getting used to going to visit her at work. I know it made her feel better. Because she has been sad for a while. I wish my Nono still lived here. He lived with us for a little while. I miss him a lot!

I'm glad that my Nono came for a long visit. I'm glad that Steve gave him the time off. And that he got to come and play in the group with my tios. My Nono told me not to be sad. We're going to see each other soon. Because my Dad always takes me to Disney World for Spring break. Our Spring break starts on March 22nd. I can't wait to go visit my Nono! :) C

I'm honoured to have made it into the Top 10 alongside great blogs such as Neurophilosophy, Not Exactly Rocket Science and Science-Based Medicine, all of which I read before I began blogging and which helped inspired me to start. Thanks to everyone who nominated me, and of course, to the judges,

Anyway, the winners will be chosen by a vote of ResearchBlogging.org members. Voting will be open for one week from March 4 - i.e. later today - to March 11. So if you think science blogging is important, and you think that Neuroskeptic deserves the $1000 top prize, please vote. Or if you wouldn't trust me with that kind of money, you could at least vote for the Best Post prize of $50 for my post on the voodoo correlations in fMRI issue (post). Or you could even do both.
